DRKPPY:
Dark Puppy of DRKPPY is rauw, compromisloos en volgeladen met ongetemde energie. Vanaf de eerste seconden wordt de luisteraar ondergedompeld in een storm van agressieve vocals, gruizige gitaren en dreunende drums. Het klinkt als een explosieve mix van punk en noise, met een duidelijke DIY-esthetiek die doet denken aan de undergroundscene van de jaren ’80 en ’90.
De productie is bewust lo-fi gehouden, wat perfect past bij de brutale attitude van de band. Dit is geen muziek om op de achtergrond te zetten – dit is een sonische aanval die je frontaal raakt. De band klinkt alsof ze elk moment kunnen ontploffen, maar houdt die spanning net onder het kookpunt. Chaotisch, maar gecontroleerd.
Tekstueel blijft het mysterieus, maar de woede en frustratie zijn tastbaar. "DRKPPY" voelt als een oprechte uitbarsting van alles wat misloopt – in jezelf, in de wereld, in systemen die niet werken.
